Reflections on the Justice of God

So we are coming to the 3rd week of our mini-Bible Study on the Reflections of God’s Justice (plus the devotional guide) in our home cell group. Have you realised how much work and prayers must have been put into the preparation by Ps. Heok Cheow and Ps. Cheng Kin for these materials? They have put together such a wonderful resource to help us prepare our hearts towards Easter. Are we not as members of FGA so blessed? Thank you pastors and also the Leadership of FGA for providing us these materials. There are many positive feedbacks on the lessons and its sure encouraging hearing them.

We also "enjoyed" the multimedia aspect of the lessons. The video clips of the lessons have enabled our cell members to visualize the message intended for each lesson. Last Friday, we watched (in horror) the clips from the movie Shooting Dogs. An eye opener to some of us who were not even aware of such tragedy and massacre that has happened not so far back.

The lessons are so relevant and interesting and will help us address some of those so-called difficult questions we faced as Christians …. Why is there so much injustice in this world? Does God really care for the poor and the oppressed? The video clip is a good intro for the day’s topic and everyone can give their input through those thought provoking questions as we draw the answers from the Scriptures. Let us read those lessons before our fellowship so that our discussion can be more productive as we learn from one another God’s justice and fairness through His Word. In so doing, let us be reminded of our Church Theme for 2009 – Let Us Return …. to right relationship with our Lord, to the Word and to Servanthood.

Now that the lessons are laid before us, let us do our part. Invest a little of our time reading up the lessons and also not forgetting that Devotional booklet for the season of Lent. It’s worth it!!
