Pastor Philip James
Genesis CG members had the privilege of celebrating Pastor Philip James' 70th birthday last Wednesday (a week before his actual birthdate).
Looking back, it was like a back-to-back-to-back meeting with Pastor Philip. Our CG met at Peter Huang's place on Wednesday for a little birthday bash and then we had a combined CG meeting on Friday where Pr. Philip shared on Compassion and Christian Care. And on Saturday, Pr. Philip was the speaker in FGA Central, and he spoke about the 5 pillars from Jude 20-23. Phew... all heavy stuff!
Genesis CG owed its existence to Pastor Philip's guidance and counseling over the years when Pr. Philip started his visit to VCC back in 2002.
Coming from a church with a list of international speakers, members of Genesis CG have been blessed with many international preachers and pastors speaking and teaching on the pulpit. Only a handful stayed on long periods and ministered to the church with a father's heart, and Pr Philip is one.
From 2002 until now, Pastor Philip have made more than 7 trips to Malaysia from his home in Melbourne. God called him to VCC to minister to the leaders and the congregation and he has developed such a close relationship to the members in Genesis CG.
God has called Pr. Philip to also minister to the churches in and around Malaysia. He has been to the East Coast as well as to Singapore.
We are thrilled to know that Pr. Philip has recently finished his autobiography and we pray God will continue to make his life a living testimony of God's grace and love wherever he goes. Our prayers go with him as God continue to use Pr. Philip to build up His people.
